Zimbabwe Power Company Needs A Shift Charge Superintendent

Qualifications and Experience

  • City and Guilds part 3 (Technician Qualification) or equivalent.
  • 5 years’ experience.

OR

  • Recognised apprenticeship training in a relevant Engineering trade.
  • 7 years’ experience.

OR

  • 10 years’ experience in Power Station Operation and Maintenance as Operator or Control Room Technician.
  • ZESA Senior Authorisation provides and added advantage.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development of the section business plan.
  • Monitoring and supervising the commissioning of plant.
  • Monitoring plant performance and efficiency through checking and analyzing of log books.
  • Attending to plant startup and shutdown.
  • Carrying out routine checks, inspections and tests on generating plant to ensure optimal operation.
  • Carrying out on the job training and monitoring staff performance.
  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical isolations, switching, issuing and cancelling of safety documents.
  • Setting of performance targets and carrying out performance appraisals for subordinates
