In this running year the CSZ envisions upping securing of personal, business and national assets from fiber, mobile money, connectivity and security of the systems. This development, announced at Jameson Hotel, strategically embraces and endorses the stance on cyber security legislation.

The CSZ was involved in debates towards the Cyber Security Bill, Data Protection Bill and the Electronic Transfers and Electronic Commerce Bill under the 8th Parliamentary session, according to CSZ President Dr Gilford T. Hapanyengwi.

“2015 is a year where business ideas on solid ICT Base should mature. For that to happen we have to be outward looking for internal growth and securing assets available,” said Hapanyengwi.

Amongst the objective, fostering innovative ICT Business Solutions in a secure environment. This welcome development rises to the need for wealth protection for business continuity, business growth and national security

Mr Mudiwa Mvere, a CSZ Councillor, spoke on the need for Information to be accessible and secure, outlining infrastructure, risk assessment and power as the main components of information security.

He further iterated that information security encompasses what a business does when a disaster occurs. Response to an incident being crucial for business continuity and disaster recovery, for which one should not be mistaken for the other.

“Knowing how to respond before the disaster strikes saves precious time in figuring out how to respond after it strikes. How you respond to a crisis may adversely impact your company more than the crisis itself,” Mvere said.
