NetOne, HIT sign MOU

NetOne has signed a memorandum of understanding with Harare Institute of Technology to promote skills and knowledge transfer, and idea incubation.

NetOne Chief Technical Officer Darlington Gutu said the agreement will see the company supporting HIT’s innovations whilst promoting idea exchange and experiential learning between both parties.

“Our partnership model promotes idea exchange and experiential learning which will allow HIT students an opportunity to glean from NetOne experts through an exchange program which seeks to give them practical exposure, on the job training and experience on the shop floor,” he said.

The telecoms company said the partnership is an indication of their commitment towards youth empowerment.

“We understand that most innovations have not been fully exploited due to lack of funding, so as a business we shall offer necessary financial support to ensure that innovative solutions generated during the partnership are implemented and monetized.

“The partnership is a testament to NetOne’s commitment towards youth empowerment by leveraging on technology and innovation to capacitate young Zimbabweans to improve their income-generating capacity and ability to create employment for themselves and others.
